Three years in a row we climbed the mythical Stelvio with our Brommies. Last year we decided to move to the Dolomites.
One of the best ways to visit this Unesco world heritage site is during the yearly Sellaronda Bike Day: more than 20,000 cyclists ride on some of the most scenic roads in Europe. It’s free and no cars on the roads!
On Saturday 23rd June we met up at 8.30am in Arabba (Parking Funivie Porta Vescovo) to start the Dolomites climb. 58 km, 4 passes (Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi), just over 2000 meters elevation gain with gradients averaging seven per cent. We loved every second of it. Real fun… and pain!
After the ride, we head back to where we started and enjoyed a picnic, where every participant bought food or beverages to share with the group.
