If you can ride, ride
As lockdown eases, let's leave public transport for those that need it.
We're calling on all Brompton owners and city bike riders, to do their bit and cycle more than they ever have before, to make space for those that need it most.
The more of us that take as much of our journey on two wheels as we can, the better it is for everyone.
Cities For Movement
No one could have ever expected what’s happened in the last year with the COVID pandemic – from lockdowns to facemasks, the way that we live our lives in cities has changed forever. But we’ve adapted, found new ways to move freely around our cities, with many turning to a Brompton to help them do it.
We’ve spoken to people around the globe and asked them how they use a Brompton to move in their city, uncovering what has changed and how they hope their city will shape itself in the future.
A vote to rename London's cycleways
In October, Brompton teamed up with climate charity Possible and Covent Garden to launch "Name Our Lanes", a competition to name London's cycleways in a bid to encourage Londoners to feel more connected to cycling in their city.
Focus on one of the world's healthiest cities: Copenhagen
Exercise is a way of life across Scandinavia - and Copenhagen is a prime example of an urban environment that fights for what it believes in and promotes a more active form of transport.
WHY WE NEED TO ACT NOW
Cycling is proven to bring huge benefits to our societies, to health, the environment and the economy.
There are 66.4 million people in the UK. Only 3% regularly ride a bike.**
Regular physical activity reduces depression up to 30% and the chance of developing cancer by up to 45%.***
Over 8,000 hectares of Central London land is taken up by parked cars. That’s the same size as 57 Hyde Parks, 6.6 Heathrow Airports or 5,714 Football Pitches.****
1 parking space = 42 Bromptons. Surely there is a better way to use car parking space?

Did you know that 68% of car journeys in the UK are less than 5 miles?
Cycling and walking is the obvious choice for short journeys, but people often use a car.
Imagine the impact we could have if we all committed to making those trips by bike or foot?
People For Movement
Our cities are killing us. Not only have we completely lost touch with our surroundings; our urban lifestyles are actually damaging our health and the environment. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
We’ve spoken to some of the world’s leading urban experts to explore how clever city planning combined with appropriate investment can impact our environments.
Let's work together and become a force for change.
