Share your rides and see how much CO2 you saved
Thursday 3rd September is National Cycle to Work day in the UK and we are taking the opportunity to ask Brompton riders the world over to cycle to work and share their ride information via Strava, in order to calculate how much CO2 the Brompton community can save.
To be part of the day, just follow these simple steps:
1) Create an account at Strava.com and download the mobile app https://www.strava.com/
2) Join the Brompton CC on Strava
3) Cycle to work on Thursday 3rd September, logging your ride on Strava
4) Visit the site, find your ride and see how you have contributed to saving CO2
Why we are doing this
Firstly cycle to work day is a great excuse to dust off your bike (any bike) and take the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective. Secondly, we love a bit of data and we hope to provide valuable information back to the members of the Strava group. Measuring the CO2 emissions saved (vs travelling by car) is a great way to visualise the impact that cycling has on the environment and you can also see how many Brompton owners around the world are contributing. We are using Strava as it provides both real-time and accurate information about Brompton rides all over the world. See more about the group in this post.
Remember to also pledge the miles you are going to ride at the official UK Cycle to Work Day website.
