Brompton World Championship 2024

The dress code is…there is no code. Just one rule – no cycling lycra! Come in an outfit that best suits your style, injects some personality and reflects the fun and craziness that is BWC. We’ll have prizes up for grabs for the best dressed, so get planning! Check back here soon for some style inspo.

There will be up to 500 participants over 10 race heats and a final heat for one rider to be crowned ‘Fastest racer of BWC 2024’ It’s a Le Mans style start, every BWC race starts with all the Brompton’s folded and lined up with all participants making a dash to their bike to unfold to get racing around the track. This year’s race is a total of 4,500m consisting of 5 laps of the 900m track around Granary Square.

Everyone and anyone who’s confident riding and can bring their own Brompton can purchase a ticket to be entered into the race. There are no limits on how fast you have to be. Some of our own Brompton staff will also be racing and joining in the fun (including Will Butler-Adams), as well as participants from local communities, owners from across the UK and oversees, plus our retail network.

Only non-Electric Brompton’s are allowed to race (see Ts & Cs for full details), if you only have an Electric bike, are coming from oversees and are not travelling with your bike, or want to compete and don’t yet own a Brompton, please check out Brompton Bike Hire as an option.

There will be prizes in multiple categories (Best Dressed, Fastest Fold etc.) - get ready to win anything from a one off Brompton bike to helmets, magnums of champagne and more!

It’s free and open to all spectators who want to stand on the sidelines and cheer the race on!

There will be plenty of food and drink options on the day in the festival zone, plus an after party venue on the Saturday for race ticket holders! Visit back soon to hear which partners will be there.
